The progressive-metal group Tool are heading out on a North American trek in support of their highly-anticipated record Fear Inoculum.
The outing will kick-off this fall in Sacramento at Aftershock Festival, followed by gigs in cities like Houston, Milwaukee, Boston, Philadelphia, and Atlantic City. They’ll make stops at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, New Jersey’s Prudential Center, PNC Arena in Charlotte, as well as two-night stints at Los Angeles’ Staples Center and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena before wrapping-up in Washington, D.C. at the Capitol One Arena. Killing Joke will provide support on all dates.
Tool has been preparing for their new record for months, surprising fans with an announcement back in March before embarking on a handful of festival dates throughout the summer.
Fear Inoculum, Tool’s first album in 13 years, was released last week. Multiple music outlets and fans say that the record was worth the wait, with Consequence of Sound noting that the record “lives up to its daunting expectations with songs that showcase Tool in peak performance as musicians and compositional arrangers.” Fear Inoculum, running at 86 minutes, features the title track, which dropped early August. The album follows 2006’s 10,000 Days and Lateralus from 2001.
